painting of a woman enjoying a painting by Edvard Munch
acrylic on panel (masonite)
8" x 8" or 20 x 20 cm
Anxiety is closely related to Munch’s more famous piece, The Scream. The faces show despair and the dark colors show a depressed state. Many critics believe it’s meant to show the emotions of heartbreak and sorrow. My figure is facing it head on.
I create small studies like Anxiety in preparation for a finished piece or just as visual notes. I often use my small studies to understand the problems involved in rendering subjects and to plan the elements to be used in finished works, such as light, color, form, perspective and composition.
These small studies are exclusively available through my shop and blog. All studies are signed on the reverse.
Shipping takes about two weeks no matter where you live in the world. Price includes shipping and handling. You'll receive your painting safely packaged and ready to frame.
