In my painting Vliegtuigstreep 3 (Contrail 3), I capture the contemporary landscape at its most pristine and elemental form. By depicting a collection of four distinct, striking white condensation trails slicing sharply across a blue sky, I aimed to create a minimalist work that is still very much photorealistic.
Visually, there is absolutely no difference between a standard airplane condensation trail and what some would call a chemtrail. Depending on your own perspective you might see a peaceful, realistic depiction of modern aviation paths, or you might read into it the deeper anxieties and theories of our contemporary world. That is up to you. I totally refuse to define the lines.
